Collecting MOF Edits and NOIDMIFs creates two tables, two stored procedures, and three WMI classes. A SQL view of that table is created if you're running Web Reports! Don't make the mistake of deleting tables with SQL Enterprise Manager. Deleting tables without deleting all the associated pieces of the table can cause problems with dependencies, performance, not to mention lots of errors. Site Sweeper is the answer. It allows you to safely and accurately delete multiple classes and everything else that is associated with that class! Clean multiple SMS servers with a few mouse clicks.

Allowing 3rd party vendors to create a NOIDMIF file can cause unexpected results. It can be difficult and time consuming to clean up. By evaluating or using a demo of the following software, you immediately add tables to your SMS database:

Dell OpenManage IT Assistant

HP Collect Inventory Tool

Altiris Inventory Solutions

Patch Management Solutions

3rd party NOIDMIF files

What if you have 100 primary sites with 100 bad classes? It's at least a two day project to remove the classes using DELGRP from Microsoft. DELGRP only drops the tables and removes references to that table from other tables. The stored procedures, views, and WMI classes remain.

Using Site Sweeper just query your parent site, select the classes you want to remove, add the SMS servers you want to clean, click a button and let it fly. Within five minute your sites will be clean from these classes for good!

These unwanted tables will bloat your SMS database. Speed up the MMC resource manager, WQL queries, and web reports by removing obsolete classes. Reduce the database backup time and improve SQL replication by removing excessive clutter from your SMS database.
