SCCM
Self Service
SCCM Self Service combines business processes with the core services of
Configuration Manager.
We know what it takes to maintain and administer large-scale
Configuration Manager infrastructures. That’s why we developed a self service
request management system for the enterprise. By integrating with Config
Manager, our solution removes the burdensome task of addressing individual or
group software requests. We automate the software request, approval, license
verification, and delivery process of software — whether for one person, or an
entire office.
Self Service extends Configuration Manager to include complete self-service for
end users and support staff by providing dynamic approval workflow, license
management, and installation scheduling features that allow IT to meet end user
service level agreements. Obtain 10 minute end to end software delivery times
with little human involvement to any user anywhere. Give request on behalf
permissions to your support staff to allow for first level / first call
resolution.
Software
Request Management
Self Service provides users with a familiar and easy to use storefront to request software
automatically from your SMS 2003 / SCCM installation. Publish
any type of request including software, task sequences, OSD images, service packs, computers, laptop bags,
and office supplies. Self Service uses approval and inventory management policies to
ensure requests are secure and receive the proper approval.
Approval Workflow
Self Service provides a multilevel and dynamic approval process to secure requests.
You can link approvers to Active Directory attributes to create a dynamic approval structure
based on the requester. You can also use managers specified in Active Directory
or create your own custom approval groups. Customizable emails
and detailed status keeps everyone informed.
Software Rental
Reduce overall software license requirement by using a leased software model. At
the end of the lease period, users can extend their lease or allow automatic
uninstall of the software.
License Reclaimation
Create email based campaigns to politely ask the user to approve the automatic
uninstall of transient, under utilized applications using software metering
data. Reallocate your existing licenses effectively and prevent the unnecessary
purchasing of software. Emails are generated throughout the license reclamation
campaign.
Request on Behalf
Use Self Service to request software on behalf of the user, allowing support
staff and managers to submit, track and report on the status of the installation
without ever involving administrators. Locate users by attributes, or paste a
manual list of computer names, allowing ultimate flexibility.
Software Role Provisioning
Group software together into a single web request, allowing IT departments to
quickly deploy the common applications for a specific department or role.
Scheduling and Service Windows
Allow users to schedule their software installation outside of business hours.
When combined with SCCM Companion, our Wake-on-LAN solution, software can be
delivered regardless of the computer power state.
Question Manager
Questions can be assigned to requests to assure you have the necessary information
to make approval decisions and gather necessary data for reporting. Pre populate questions with answers for multiple choice
questions and control the input of answers using regular expressions.
Inventory Manager
Centralize inventory to ensure inventory compliance using native SMS inventory.
Real time inventory data is used
throughout the request and approval processes,
ensuring that inventory is available to fulfill the request. You can allocate inventory
on a global, Office, or Department basis. Self Service will assure software licensing compliance
by comparing quantity owned to quantity used.
Purchase Manager
Track purchase history using a customizable and extendable database. Track who
ordered what for whom and assign purchases to resources.
Security and Control
Control access to sensitive applications using per package and category
security. Ensure that expensive software is not installed unnecessarily.
Sarbanes-Oxley Standards
Self Service helps to gain a foot hold over the SOX 404 process further enhancing the
efficiency of support staff and insures adherence to defined policies.
Completely Web Based
Self Service uses the latest in Microsoft .Net technologies combined with an Ajax interface
to offer a very pleasent user experience.
